Out of the blue. It’s been horrendous finishing the Technossance Magazine and Great Beyond. Probably because they are online publications. But it’s done, and I only return to them now for pure pleasure and entertainment.
Someone recently asked me what inspired me to write my novel, The Stoned Theory of My Own Destruction. Honestly, my first intention was simple: I wanted to write the best fiction and the best novel I possibly could. I wasn’t trying to follow a formula or write for anyone else. I wanted to create a story that I would be proud to put my name on.
As the novel progressed, my ambitions grew. I wanted the fiction to feel real — to make the characters, experiences, and world believable enough that the reader could lose themselves in it. Authenticity became just as important as the story itself. I wanted it to feel less like something I had invented and more like something that had actually happened. Looking back, that’s exactly what I set out to do, and I believe I achieved it.

I’m feeling under the weather; however, I have my favourite 5 songs ready to go. I chose them after looking back at an older journal entry.
Top 5 Songs:
- “Oh, Boy” by Buddy Holly and the Crickets ‧ 1956.
- “Ain’t That A Shame” by Fats Domino ‧ 1955.
- “The Adults Are Talking” by The Strokes ‧ 2020.
- “Blue Jean” by David Bowie ‧ 1984.
- “Dream On” by Aerosmith ‧ 1973.
I have apparently contracted Rhinovirus, and I’m not feeling well at all. I’m coughing, dragging myself around, and feeling older than some dinosaurs — at this point, I’m pretty sure a fossil could pass me on the sidewalk. Retirement was supposed to be relaxing, but apparently the prehistoric era had other plans for me. The doctor wants me to hold off on writing more journals.
