Out of the blue. I’m much younger than I look. I guess my anti-aging cream works really well. It’s been an exhausting year, but it’s like Christmas already. I set my deadline, and it’s been met, but still it’s been tough.

The Technossance Magazine and The Great Beyond, much different books than The Stoned Theory Of My Own Destruction, and more difficult to complete, but it’s finally over. It’s time to focus on retirement. It’s time to focus on little things about nothing, like Cryptozoologica #14 and just nothingness.

Surprise! Sometimes, I just want to rock my socks off. Some days I just want to hear the old club sounds again. I want to go back to Club Surprise, tune in to Club 108.9, a pirate radio station, and let the mixes, late-night beats, and underground energy bring back memories of a time when music never seemed to stop. It came to an end, but that was the surprise of it all.

It’s amazing how long ago I started some of my first deejay mixes, but then I just forget it and put on some of my favourite records, and it’s all good.

Wow, today’s album of the day. While I don’t own the album of the day, I’m familiar with Ratt. Released on March 27, 1984, by Atlantic Records, Ratt’s debut full-length album Out of the Cellar is a multi-platinum landmark of 1980s metal glam and hair metal. Peaking at number seven on the Billboard 200, it combines arena-ready pop hooks with gritty hard-rock energy. AC/DC brought us heavier rock, and more influential glam metal, but don’t discount Ratt.

Sometimes, I think about tuning in to WOW 87.7 FM to hear the heavy music that always got my attention. Then, just as quickly, I change my mind and think, “Wow, now I want to listen to WRICH 109.9 FM online” because every station brings back a different soundtrack and a different set of great memories.
