Journal #42

Out of the blue. Dreams are weird. But dreams can almost be rhythmic, like music, sometimes even telling the smaller part of a bigger story.

Dreams have always fascinated writers because they blur the line between reality and imagination, often revealing hidden fears, hopes, or desires. Whether they foreshadow future events, symbolize a character’s inner struggles, or simply create mystery, dreams can add depth and emotion to a story. Their unpredictable nature makes them one of literature’s most intriguing devices, inviting readers to question what is real and what exists only in the mind. Some of my best stories came from the dreamworld.

Dreams and music share a kind of magic. A melody can stir emotions just as vividly as a dream can paint unforgettable images in the mind. Together, they remind us that some of life’s most meaningful experiences can’t always be explained — they can only be felt.

Towards the end of my writing career, I went back to science fiction. The Great Beyond and Lionheart Leaks featured stories presented in different formats. I love Geropolis and A Brave New Heart and the Ode To Philip is also great. I enjoyed experimenting with unconventional storytelling and exploring ideas that stretched beyond everyday reality. Returning to science fiction allowed me to mix imagination and odd concepts in fresh and creative ways.

But to really feel my talent is to hear DJ Tony T perform. My cousin can deejay with the best of them. But his YouTube channel fades to black pretty quickly. Still, it’s damn good. It’s good for a rainy day. ACϟDC rocks.

Sure, my drumming has gotten a lot better in my very old age. But I didn’t choose drums; it chose me. I wish I was a real drummer.
