Journal #39

Out of the blue. I wrote a hell of a novel. It was serious. It wasn’t supposed to be too funny, and it wasn’t. The money went to charity, and I helped. Just didn’t get the big bucks. It wasn’t that long ago, especially when you think about how a century wasn’t really that long in the grand scheme of things.

The Technossance Magazine is done. I struggled decades trying to churn out that epic, but it’s done. It’s finished. Jesus, Jim, that issue on Lionheart turned out so much better with hard work. I could watch Barbara Walters talk for hours on The View, but sometimes you gotta get away from the TV set.

I’m a centrist, independent, caring about values, a little bit left and a little bit right, voting when it matters to protect the #BrewingtonCommunity and do whatever it takes to attract less tourism. Still, they keep me on board.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe in socialism. It ruined Puerto Rico and the lives of celebrity broadcasters like Mario Juan Valez. But I listen. Oh, God, I listen. I don’t judge, but radio has never sounded better, and there should’ve been more.

But there wasn’t.

I just randomly picked today’s top songs from radio and vinyl, and it works for me, but it’s in no particular order.

Today’s Top 5 Songs:

  1. “Bust a Move” by Young MC ‧ 1989.
  2. “Rare” by Selena Gomez ‧ 2020.
  3. “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John ‧ 1971.
  4. “Ripple” by Grateful Dead ‧ 1970.
  5. “Violet” by Hole ‧ 1994.

The Great Beyond might be a wonderful place and mean different things to different people, but for me, it was my last book. Even talked about it on The Rich Experience. Then I gave a stern warning, and for many reasons, there won’t be any more books. Retirement is treating me well. Thank you.

Everyone is different. We all see things differently. Sometimes, I like to make sense, and sometimes I don’t. Then there’s today’s poem of the day.

Today’s Poem:

Hot Tub Blues

Seasickness — / waterboarding / water gate open / the United States needed help / that old Bill Gates hot tub turned green

Maybe my next journal will be nothing but random thoughts and observations about the Soviet Union. It could wander from history and politics to strange facts, famous figures, and old media. Then again, maybe not. You never quite know. Thank you very much.
