Out of the blue. Today, I took a massive shit. It felt good. It felt very good.
I worked hard my whole life, and now it finally feels like things are coming together with the Great Beyond Music Festival. When I read about it in the Harlem Herald newspaper, it felt like one of those moments that reminds you all the years of effort were worth something after all.
I worked two job, man! I worked at Pelmorex’s The Weather Network and Lionheart Enterprises. I juggled two jobs like a professional clown. Damn, I knew how to juggle. I was a mild-mannered reporter.
Just to think back. During my time at Pelmorex Industries and The Weather Network, I held various titles in my closed captioning role. I started as a Closed Captioning Artist and eventually advanced to Chief Closed Captioning Editor at The Weather Network. I worked my way up the totem pole at the company, and I was paid handsomely.
Sometimes I think the greatest miracle in my life is my youngest son and the way he sees the world through the lens of time. He’s fascinated by watches, old calendars, history, and that strange feeling of moments passing by, almost like he was born carrying an awareness of time deeper than most people. I call him a boy of time because he seems naturally connected to the idea that every second matters.

Today, my favourite songs all came from vinyl. I went digging through the closet and pulled out a few forgotten gems, the kind of records that still crackle with life the moment the needle drops. There’s something special about albums, the artwork, the weight of them in your hands, and just the way each song feels, the magic connected to the next like a story unfolding. Streaming is convenient, but vinyl makes me slow down and really listen.
Today’s Top 5 Songs:
- “Fly on the Wall” by AC/DC ‧ 1985.
- “Up the Beach” by Jane’s Addiction ‧ 1988.
- “Pretty Girl” by Eric Clapton ‧ 1983.
- “California Girls” by David Lee Roth ‧ 1985.
- “Don’t Need a Gun” (Meltdown Mix) by Billy Idol ‧ 1987.
I love music, but movies are also pretty cool. The Lost Boys is a cult-classic 80s horror movie about two brothers who move to the California beach town of Santa Carla and discover it’s filled with vampires. Mixing horror, humor, rebellion, and romance, the film became iconic for its neon boardwalks, leather jackets, comic-book energy, and unforgettable rock soundtrack. It perfectly captures the nostalgic spirit of the 1980s, bringing back memories of VHS rentals, arcades, and massive movies that defined the era.
I own every season of The Golden Girls on DVD, and I still enjoy revisiting the series for its sharp humor and unforgettable characters. One of my favourite minor characters was Enrique Mas, who always brought a unique charm to his appearances. Imagine Enrique Mas as a cocktail. Cheers!
You know, I’ve still got it. Retirement has given me more time to sit behind the drums, practice, and really bang the rhythm again. The more I play, the better I’m getting, and it feels great to keep improving at drums.
