Journal #10

Hey there! It’s Monday. Yesterday was Palm Sunday, but I haven’t gotten too festive about the Second Coming crap yet. March Madness is heating up, but I haven’t a fucking clue about basketball. This is the last journal for the month, but I hope it’s been a good one for everyone. It’s been alright.

My youngest son is really into the Captain Underpants movie, based on the “Captain Underpants” novel. He still talks a little like Peanuts; says “Good grief” and talks too much like Charlie Brown, but that’s fine.

I used to really like movies. One movie I haven’t seen is The Day the Clown Cried, a 1972 drama film directed by and starring Jerry Lewis about a circus clown imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp. I’ve seen Schindler’s List and some really sad stuff, but that one is really out there.

My record collection isn’t the Technossance Magazine, but it still means a lot. It’s a different kind of archive, built through years of listening and collecting. There’s a wide range of sounds and memories tied to each record. Even so, it remains a great collection of music.

Top 5 Songs for March 30th, 2026:

  1. “Who Do You Love” (Live) by The Doors ‧ 1970.
  2. “Immigrant Song” (Live) by Led Zeppelin ‧ 1972.
  3. “Fortnight” by Taylor Swift ‧ 2024.
  4. “Back Down South” by Kings Of Leon ‧ 2010.
  5. “Zoo Station” by U2 ‧ 1991.

“Zoo Station” is the opening track of U2’s 1991 album, Achtung Baby. The song was inspired by the Berlin Zoologischer Garten railway station. During the Cold War, this station was a major transit point.  It’s a “statement of intent” for the band’s musical reinvention, introducing a gritty, industrial-influenced sound characterized by distorted guitars and processed vocals.

The Stoned Theory Of My Own Destruction, The Great Beyond and the Technossance Magazine are 3 books I’ve written, and 2 of them were completed this year. I always refer back to them because they are accomplishments. The Technossance Magazine is the most unique because I used music production skills to finish the book. It’s fun to listen to. I wonder if AI can create a tour guide for the Technossance Magazine, suggesting which page and music stream to listen to next. I’m not kidding. I think I need help.
